Industry Expert Matthew Simmons Joins Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors’ Distribution Center Design Practice
With 17 years of experience in distribution center design, inventory optimization and LEAN process improvement, Matthew Simmons joins Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors’ Consulting Practice as a Senior Consultant.
Boston, MA (May 28, 2021) – Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors, a leading supply chain consulting firm, is thrilled to announce that Matthew Simmons has joined the company as a Senior Consultant. In this role, Matthew will become a key player in the firm’s seasoned distribution center design consulting team.
Mr. Simmons has 17 years of experience in supply chain with a strong emphasis on distribution center design and manufacturing operations for some of the largest organizations in the world. He has developed and implemented customized LEAN supply chain management strategies and network design and production footprint solutions in a wide range of industries and for major companies like AutoZone, Brooks Brothers, Sephora, Kaiser Permanente and L’Oreal. Some of his strengths include conducting end-to-end supply chain modeling, continuous improvement solution design and ROI payback, with expertise that spans generating concept proposals with capital justification (ROI/IRR/NPV), supply chain plans, facility site selections, design layout in AutoCAD and distribution network optimization and inventory positioning.
In addition to his supply chain work, Mr. Simmons has a strong background in the automotive world and was formally an engineer on John Andretti’s IndyCar race team that ran in the 2008 Indy 500.

Matthew earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering Technology & Organizational Leadership from Purdue University in 2006 and went on to start his fruitful career in supply chain.
